Your consultation

bullet

I will come to you - your dog will behave more naturally in his own home.

bullet

I will chat with you about the problems you are having.

bullet

No lectures; instead I will actually show you how to train your dog, at the same time explaining what I am doing and why, by the time it is your turn you will have already started to see improvements.

bullet

Whether you prefer your dog to live in the garden or house, on the sofa or on the floor, I will tailor your training to suit you, your family and your dog, if I make suggestions it will only be because I think it is absolutely necessary.

bullet

At the end of your session, not only will have seen an improvement in your dogs behaviour (for most problem behaviours) but you will also be confident in how to handle your dog in the future and you will have a better understanding of why your dog behaves the way he does.

bullet

After the session you will be reassured that I am there for you should you have any further problems or questions.

bullet

For most dogs only one session is needed, however in some cases further sessions may be necessary.

"I can't thank you enough for your help. You have calmed me and shown me how to take control of my dog, with immediate results regarding some issues.  I have read books and dvds but nothing compared to having you with me for help, guidance and advice.  Your book was very enjoyable to read and very informative with good practical examples.  Thank you so much"  Tara, Belfast

Why 1-2-1?

I am often asked why I don’t run training classes, well, this is why…  Training classes are ok if you just want to meet new people or enjoy a hobby with your dog, but if you actually want to solve a behaviour or training problem you may be a little disappointed.  First, unless you are really lucky you will have to share the class and the trainer’s time with a number of other dogs – possibly up to 30.  This would mean that during a single one hour class, you would be lucky to get 2 minutes of his or her time, most classes cost around £10 each, £10 for 2 minutes is pretty poor value for money if you ask me.  If you think you won’t need 1-2-1 time with the trainer, think again, every dog is different and they all learn differently and at different rates, this means that the training technique used will suit only some of the dogs and that probably means not yours – or mine, if it makes you feel better!  So you will need him/her to show you how to adapt the techniques used to suit you and your dog.  My consultations are normally around 3 hours each, this is the actual amount of time it takes to properly assess your dog and his and your needs, and it leaves enough time to demonstrate all the training techniques you will need.   To get that amount of training at a class under these conditions you would need to attend for nearly 2 years (90 classes) – and at £10 a class, that’s a whopping investment of £900 – flip, you could buy a holiday for that!!!

Whilst my bank manager would probably prefer me to run classes – after all, if 30 people turned up I would make £300 in just one hour, its far better for the dog and their family and it means the problem can be solved there and then, - not great for my bank balance, but does wonders for my reputation and success rate.  And that’s why I don’t do classes.

You can finally stop stressing about your dogs behaviour; this time next week I could be sitting in your living room
