About Me

"My earliest memory of dogs was of a Greyhound, I must have been about 6 at the time, he was very nervous and wouldn't come anywhere near me at first, but with patience and plenty of ham, in time he was soon eating out of my hand.  He would follow me around the allotments - at a safe distance for weeks and then one day he came and sat with me and let me pet him, I was so excited.  I called him Barney."

Caroline's love of animals, and especially dogs, started at a very young age, although not allowed to keep animals at home, she more than made up for it by caring for and feeding the local strays, (to her mums annoyance).

When she moved out and got her own place for the first time it seemed obvious that she would at last have a pet of her own, although her first pet was not a dog.

"We both worked long hours when we first moved out so it would have been unfair to get a dog - although I desperately wanted one, in the end we opted for two cats - Cookie and Sooty."

Molly, her first dog, came a few years later.

"I had given up work to look after my son - James, and when he went to nursery I had more time on my hands - time for a dog!"

Caroline started learning about Dog Psychology to find out more about her own dog from reading books, but she soon became addicted to the subject and started doing courses to learn more.  Before she knew it she was helping her friends with their dogs and then their friends dogs, and after some considerable thought she decided she should take the plunge and start working as a Canine Behaviourist in her spare time.

"They say - When you do a job you love, you never do a days work in your life, and that is so true.  Every day I get to meet all different people and their dogs, the dogs have all kinds of problems from pulling on the lead to aggression to seriously psychologically damaged dogs.  Every day is different and it is a pleasure to get up and go to work in the morning.  For most people my visit can really change their lives, for the rest it is just the icing on the cake."

Over the years Caroline has kept many different types of pets including Rabbits, Guinea Pigs and different kinds of fish including marine, tropical and coldwater and her favourite - the Piranhas!  She has had four permanent cats and bred from Pancake who produced four beautiful litters of kittens, she has fostered cats and has experience hand rearing kittens.  There are also two lizards - Theo and Duncan, there have also been foster dogs over the years, too many to name, and she now has Sampson and Charlie, Charlie was a desperately neglected dog that no one else could do anything with.

Caroline Jenkins travels throughout Northern Ireland to help people with their dogs, find out how she could help you and your best friend:
